Si Chuan Dou Hua is a popular Chinese restaurant serving Si Chuan and Cantonese delicacies. Now besides dining in one of its elegantly appointed restaurants, Si Chuan Dou Hua Delivery & Takeaway services allow us to enjoy their dishes at home.
Si Chuan Dou Hua have been around for decades and currently have outlets in UOB Plaza, PARKROYAL Beach Road and PARKROYAL Kitchener Road. With the introduction of Si Chuan Dou Hua Delivery & Takeaway services, orders can be made on their online store for islandwide delivery and no-contact delivery as well as self collection and even kerbside pickup.
Si Chuan Dou Hua PARKROYAL Beach Road
Recently we placed a takeaway order for pickup at Si Chuan Dou Hua PARKROYAL Beach Road. The self-collection point was the restaurant’s al fresco veranda facing Beach Road. There is no need to go into the PARKROYAL Hotel or into the restaurant. It is also possible to arrange for drive-through pickup at the hotel’s driveway.
The Takeaway Menu of Si Chuan Dou Hua PARKROYAL Beach Road is quite extensive – covering soup, meat, seafood, vegetables as well and rice, noodles and desserts. There are also set meals.
Gourmet Bento Sets
There are 5 gourmet bento sets on the menu priced from $12 to $18 per set. We ordered the Set A and Set B ($12 each). The food were packed in plain eco-friendly containers.
Set B comprised Braised Chicken with Mushrooms, French Beans, Braised Ee-Fu Noodles and Desserts. They were simple comfort food. The braised chicken with mushrooms had a robust savoury taste. The chicken was tender and easy on the palate. The fine Cantonese restaurant quality ee-fu noodles were very nice. They evoked memories of wedding banquets, which are among the events that had been missing from our social calendar because of safe distancing measures.
Set A consisted of Sweet and Sour Sliced Fish, French Beans, Fried Rice with Egg and Desserts. The fried rice had all the look, aroma and taste of fried rice enjoyed in the best Chinese restaurants in Singapore. The sweet sour fish looked a little insipid but fish had good texture and the sauce was beautifully balanced in flavour.
The dessert was bean curd with goji berries. The soft and smooth bean curd was lightly sweetened. It was sort of lukewarm by the time we had it at home but it was still very enjoyable.
Fine Restaurant Quality
Si Chuan Dou Hua’s bento sets are nothing fanciful. You essentially get delectable comfort food. However, they deserved to be described as “gourmet bento sets” because the food was certainly at a level different from what we would get from the typical zhi char restaurants. It was quality food well prepared. Our bento meal from Si Chuan Dou Hua Delivery & Takeaway Menu felt like one in a fine Chinese restaurant – but at only $12 per person.
