With more and more hotels added to the STB’s staycation-approved list every day, we’re also starting to get bombarded with more and more deals. The problem is: not all of these will be worth your time. Some may even be more expensive than what you should be paying!
To help you wade through the clutter, I’ll be periodically analyzing the various offers I see popping up on hotel sites, Klook, Fave and other deals portals. For a full listing of all the current deals, be sure to check out the staycation deals summary post below:
In this article, we’ll look at some of Klook’s new deals.
Ascott Orchard Singapore
Currently approved for staycations? | Earliest Booking Date |
Yes |
11 August 2020 |
Summary: Klook can be a better deal (except for two bedroom premier), depending on the dates you’re looking at. |
Klook is offering three packages for Ascott Orchard Singapore, all of which have 7-day cancellation policies (i.e if you cancel your voucher at least 7 days before your specified date, you’ll receive a full refund):
All packages come with the following benefits:
- 1-night accommodation
- Breakfast for 2 adults and 2 children (aged 12 and below)
- 1x free parking coupon
- Check-in at 1 p.m or check-out at 2 p.m
- 20% off at Kith Cafe

Ascott is offering similar benefits under its “Ultimate Local Vacation” package. Here’s some sample rates:
Rate | |
Studio Executive Suite | S$230- 275 nett |
One Bedroom Deluxe | S$260- 330 nett |
Two Bedroom Premier | S$481 nett |
Depending on the night you wish to stay, it may be cheaper buying a fixed-price Klook package. You should check the rates for your preferred dates on the official site before purchasing.
The exception is the two bedroom premier- this room seems to be in high demand and wasn’t available on many of the dates that I searched, but when it was, the nett price of S$481 was well below Klook’s price.
Hotel Soloha
Currently approved for staycations? | Earliest Booking Date |
Yes |
1 August 2020 |
Summary: The official website is a better deal |
Klook is offering six packages for Hotel Soloha, all of which have 48-hour cancellation policies (i.e if you cancel your voucher at least 48 hours before your specified date, you’ll receive a full refund):
Regardless which package you pick, all come with all-day 1-for-1 Asahi Beer Happy Hour.
How does this compare to other rates?
Hotel Soloha is offering the following rates on its official website:
Rate | |
Standard Room | S$115.35 nett |
Deluxe Room | S$138.89 nett |
Junior Suite | S$185.97 nett |
Outdoor Suite | S$209.51 nett |
Loft Room | S$197.74 nett |
Family Suite Room | S$233.04 nett |
These rates are mostly cheaper than what’s on Klook, and I’m seeing a good number of days available. Go with the official site.
Sofitel Singapore City Centre
Currently approved for staycations? | Earliest Booking Date |
Yes |
22 July 2020 |
Summary: The couples staycation package is a better deal on Klook, but the family staycation package is a wash |
Klook is offering two packages for Sofitel Singapore City Centre, both of which have 24-hour cancellation policies (i.e if you cancel your voucher at least 24 hours before your specified date, you’ll receive a full refund):
Couples Staycation | Family Staycation
Price | S$339 nett | S$393 nett |
Inclusions |
|
|
How does this compare to other rates?
On the Sofitel Singapore City Centre’s official website, a Luxury Room for two adults with breakfast, 4 p.m check-out, S$40 F&B credit per night and a choice of a tapas platter + cocktail or high tea would cost S$410 nett. Klook’s package throws in free dinner, and comes out better in my opinion.
A Luxury Room for two adults and one child with a similar kids theme would cost S$394 nett, so you come out about the same in terms of price. The main difference would be the website offers you S$40 F&B credit, whereas Klook offers you afternoon tea.
Lloyd’s Inn
Currently approved for staycations? | Earliest Booking Date |
Yes* |
2 August 2020 |
*Hotel is not yet on STB list, but has confirmed on Facebook they are able to take staycations
Summary: Rates are the same on Klook versus the official website, but the latter offers more flexible cancellation |
Klook is offering four packages for Lloyd’s Inn, all of which are non-cancellable. It may be possible to change your stay date after purchase, but it’s at the hotel’s discretion.
All packages come with the same inclusions:
- 1-night accommodation
- Breakfast for two adults
- Turndown gift
- Early check-in/ late check-out (subject to availability)
- 10% off a-la-carte menu at Artisan Boulangerie Co @ 118 Killiney
How does this compare to other rates?
Lloyd’s Inn has yet to list specific staycation packages on their site, but for comparison, here’s the lowest rates I could find for August and September stays in a Standard and Business Room.
August stay | September stay
Standard Room | S$176.55 nett | S$188.32 nett |
Business Room | S$247.17 nett | S$258.94 nett |
The inclusions for these rates are exactly the same, but there’s one big difference: the Lloyd’s Inn rates can be cancelled or change up to 72 hours before arrival. Given the additional flexibility and almost identical price, you’re better off booking directly.
Andaz Singapore
Currently approved for staycations? | Earliest Booking Date |
No | 1 October 2020 |
Summary: Nett rates are the same on Klook versus booking directly, but the latter doesn’t force you to pre-purchase S$100 of dining credit |
Klook is offering six packages for the Andaz Singapore, all with 24-hour cancellation policies (i.e if you cancel your voucher at least 24 hours before your specified date, you’ll receive a full refund):
All packages come with the same inclusions:
- 1-night accommodation
- Breakfast for two adults
- 25% off dinner at Alley on 25 Restaurant
- S$100 F&B dining credit
- Complimentary in-room minibar
- Complimentary all-day refreshments at Sunroom
How does this compare to other rates?
Andaz’s official website is offering the following rates:
Weekday (Mon-Thurs) |
Weekend (Fri-Sun, PH & Eve PH) |
|
Base Room | S$180 nett | S$220 nett |
Deluxe Bay View Room | S$220 nett | S$260 nett |
Andaz Studio Suite | S$320 nett | S$360 nett |
With the exception of the S$100 F&B credit, the inclusions are exactly the same. Booking via the official site is cheaper as it doesn’t make you pre-purchase the dining credit, however, so it’s the better deal.
Conclusion
The latest batch of Klook deals is a mixed bag, and you’d find better value with the previous set of offers for The Warehouse Hotel and The Fullerton Bay Hotel.
Stay tuned as we analyze more of the staycation deals that end up in your inbox- and if you spot one and want to know if it’s a good deal, post it below (with the URL too, please)!
