Cheekiemonkies: Singapore Parenting & Lifestyle Blog: Walk beside life-sized Dinosaurs at Jurassic Mile

Parents with kids who are huge fans of dinosaurs, you might just want to take them on the newest Park Connector in Singapore… because they get to see life-sized dinosaur dioramas as they walk along the pathway.

And they definitely will come face to face with this!

And that stretch of path with dinosaurs? It’s aptly named JURASSIC MILE.

Thanks to my dinosaur-crazy nephews, my sister brought them down over the weekend and I knew I had to document it on my blog. 😁

Located just beside Changi Airport Terminal 4’s Carpark 4A, it is part of the new Changi Airport Connector which serves to connect Changi Airport to East Coast Park via a pathway where the public can walk, scoot or cycle to and fro.

I don’t think the connector is offcially launched because although the pathway is ready, you can’t walk all the way to East Coast Park yet due to a barrier at the end of the Jurassic Mile path.

So if you want to visit with the kids now, your best bet is to enter from Terminal 4’s Carpark 4A side. If you are driving, simply park your car there and walk towards the Tanah Merah Country Club Garden Course. You will see the brown signs that I had shared above. Continue along the red pathway.

Soon you will find barricades on both sides of the path – one side belongs to Changi Airport while the other belongs to Tanah Merah Country Club.

After a short 120m-walk, the first dinosaur appears.

No, they don’t move… in case you are wondering.

And they are all behind fences, meaning one will not be able to get up close and touch them.

I think the main idea of placing the dinosaurs along this stretch of park connector is to make the walk slightly more interesting, especially for kids.

And interesting it certainly was, with these information panels about the dinosaurs!

Hello, Ankylosaurus. You are looking pretty realistic, I must add.

There are a total of 7 different types of dinosaurs along the entire stretch, including these naughty raptors.

Oh, and one can never ever leave out the mighty T-Rex when it comes to a party of dinosaurs!

My fave has got to be this colourful Stegosaurus. 😍

This pair of Parasaurolophus came a close second though.

And the last dinosaur will be towering over you as you approach the final stretch of the pathway.

Make that two because it has a baby for company!

Remember I mentioned it is extremely new? It’s so new that I googled and couldn’t find anything on it! (So aren’t you glad you are reading my blog? πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚)

And when I was there, there were workers who were still putting the finishing touches. In addition, most of the information panels were not put up yet.

The entire Jurassic Mile is less than 1km long so it’s extremely doable for even young kids. You can even bring along their skate scooters or bicycles!

The end of Jurassic Mile connects to East Coast Park, Bedok Jetty and Marina Bay but at the time of writing, the entrance to that is still barricaded.

In reality, the dinosaur dioramas are just that – life-sized dinosaur models that are placed behind fences, that are made to make that walk more entertaining… and stopping to snap photos.

If your kids love dinosaurs, they will love walking up and down the pathway.

And it is a park connector like no other.

Best of all, it’s FREE to enjoy for everyone (and still not crowded)!
