Why using a dishwasher is better than hand-washing

Load it up: Here’s why using a dishwasher is better than doing the dishes yourself

All the reasons why we love this convenient kitchen appliance!

Staying home has its perks, like more quality time with the fam and the opportunity to work from home. But dining in and cooking for everyone also creates more cleaning up chores. And if you’re anything like us, doing the dishes is one of the least exciting things ever. Enter the time-saving dishwasher. Here’s why we’re thankful for this invention…

It’s so easy, even kids can use it

So you want to teach your little ones how to help out with the dishes? They could have trouble reaching the sink, dishes may not be properly cleaned, and water will probably get splashed all over the countertops. Say goodbye to all these issues with a dishwasher – simply put the dishes in and press wash! With this task out of the way, there’ll be more quality time for you and your kiddos.

Less chores = more me time

Who can say no to more time for Netflix and wine? Not us, that’s for sure. If you dread the process of scrubbing burnt bits off the pot every time you make mac n’ cheese, or simply dislike having to touch dirty dishwater, a dishwasher will be your new favourite appliance. The high pressure water jets remove tough stains in a flash, thoroughly cleaning every bit of kitchenware and tableware. (Psst: Parents, you can even put baby bottles in!)

Cleaner utensils are always a good thing

Since we’re in the midst of a pandemic, we thought it’s fitting to remind you that the used sponge by your sink is one of the germiest items in your home. Time to replace it! Or better yet, throw it out and have a dishwasher do the work for you. The key reason why it’s more hygienic? This sleek tool uses heated water to kill germs – something that no amount of vigorous scrubbing can do. We’re eyeing Bosch’s dishwasher, with the HygienePlus option that uses water of up to 70°C to kill 99.9% of germs.

Save water, save the environment

Bet you didn’t know this: Contrary to the common myth, dishwashers use less water than the average person washing the dishes. It’s estimated that hand-washing a full dishwasher load takes up around 40 litres of water. On the other hand, we spy the ActiveWater Eco dishwasher from Bosch that uses as little as 6.5 litres for a full load. That means you can save up to 33.5 litres of water with this resource-efficient dishwasher – enough to give you an extra bath every week (and save you a good chunk of money).

Psst: Get yours at a discount!

We know everyone appreciates a good deal, so we had to spotlight the 7/7 sale on Bosch dishwashers. You can get them in compact, 60cm free-standing units; built under your kitchen counter; or fully integrated into your kitchen cabinets. With three different construction types, you’re sure to find one that suits your kitchen and your needs. What’s the sale about, you ask? Expect 50% off the usual prices for selected dishwashers! Access the deals on 7 July 2020 from midnight to 11pm via Bosch, Courts and Lazada’s e-stores. (Limited to 10 units per merchant for each model.)

This post is in partnership with Bosch.
